Equine Aesthetics; OpeTrack Art Unicorn Design for Dorset Family

We understand that having ‘medical equipment’ in your home can sometimes feel clinical or obtrusive, despite its necessity. Especially for children, young people and older users with dementia, it’s important to keep your home feeling like a home and to maintain a positive environment, for families and carers too, that’s why we created the OpeTrack Art Unicorn Design for Dorset Family.

Our considered solution is colour. Not only does colour play an important role in the overall aesthetic of a space, it has many encouraging psychological impacts – on an individual’s mood, emotional well-being, productivity, learning and behaviour.

Jacqueline Webb Conference

CASE STUDY: Grand Design Home Creates Sanctuary for Devizes Family

The beautiful new home in Devizes, built from their own specialist design, is the family’s pride and joy and certainly with good reason. A labour of love constituting of aesthetic clean interiors and unique reclaimed oak frame, the purpose-built, open-plan, accessible home is also totally designed around their daughter.

Through various avenues of DFG and private funding, the family have been able to construct a dream country home with their daughter’s needs at the forefront of considerations.

Where to Use

Flat Spaces is fully accessible holiday accommodation designed for disabled holiday-makers, their families and carers. It was an ideal place to film our Monarch Hoist and Gantry in action, as it is precisely at this sort of location that the pair are most effective.

They found that colour can have a profound effect on the human mind and emotions; evoking memory, affecting mood and influencing behaviour. It has been shown that colour can have physical effects, increasing blood pressure and affecting appetite, and can even cause eye strain.

House Becomes a Home; London Family Home Made Accessible

OpeMed has recently concluded an exciting project in London, involving the refurbishment of a family home to make it totally accessible and suitable for a client with Cerebral Palsy.

Accessibility, in this case, is comprised of a Through-Floor Lift, Height Adjustable Kiva Bath with Light Therapy, Air Spa, Auto-fill taps, Music system and a full-size Neatfold Changing Table.

Live-Action Case Study Nears 2 Year Anniversary

Approaching the 2 year mark, it seems appropriate to reflect on the success of our Oxfordshire Case Study video which documented the transformation of four rooms of a family home back in 2014. Filmed in early 2015, the video covers the general use of the OT200 Ceiling Hoist using a room-to-room gate system and H (X-Y) systems in a variety of room settings; bedroom, therapy room and wet room.

Following the successes of recent years, OpeMed will yet again be exhibiting at the OT show next week – Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th, held at the NEC in Birmingham.

Final Chance! Maximise your OT Show experience with live demonstrations on our stand C40 where we can offer those who are unfamiliar with our equipment the opportunity to see it in action. OpeMed are excited to be attending the Independent Living Solutions Conference and Exhibition on 9th of November in Oxfordshire.

The conference, held by case management company Independent Living Solutions, will host a variety of specialist suppliers relevant to the industry to exhibit their products, of which OpeMed are pleased to have been selected.

The ILS team specialises in multiple case management areas – paediatrics, cerebral palsy, spinal cord and acquired brain injury to name a few. They work with clients for whom private funds, through litigation claims, are available to supply them with the equipment to meet their needs.

This will often be the case where a HIA has been given the role of leading delivery of adaptations, but it may also be relevant within a local authority. This requires the provision of good quality information about the service for potential service users and relevant agencies and clear briefing of multi‐ agency staff involved in receiving enquiries or visiting people in their homes. “
