Making family home accessible is a very rewarding experience for us at OpeMed. We get the opportunity to see our equipment helping people and improving their everyday lives. One such project was for a London based family home which we were invited to adapt and help to turn a house into a home. 

Working on life-changing projects is the highlight of our year, one such project was Julia’s House – The Wiltshire Children’s Hospice. Following high profile fund raising from A-list Hollywood celebrities, the project was to create an accessible haven for Children to feel comfortable and cared for in their time of need.

Always keen to expand and work with new global partners, OpeMed prides itself on supporting dealerships throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australasia. One such partnership based in Australia resulted in a large scale installation as Bendigo Hospital becomes state-of-the-art with multi-room Hoist systems.

The OT200 Ceiling Hoist is an ideal solution that when used in conjunction with our range of hydrotherapy slings providing a fully supportive hydrotherapy system for patients to depend upon. The hoist will bear the weight of the user and allow therapists to gradually introduce the water to the user.

We install Ceiling Hoists into many environments, from Schools to Nursing Homes to Physiotherapy Centres. Each installation is carefully designed and installed to ensure the best solution for the transfer and care needs of the users within the given environment.

In June 2016, OpeMed began installation of the OT200 Ceiling Hoist at the prestigious new Chirec Hospital – Delta in Brussels, Belgium. Working alongside our exclusive dealer in Belgium, we installed hoist systems in 42 rooms throughout this large scale new build hospital.

The Changing Places campaign is designed to encourage public facilities to provide vital accessible toilets that people of varying abilities that cannot use standard accessible toilets could use. This includes people with profound learning disabilities, their carers, as well as other disabled people.

We are delighted to have worked with Welcome Break installing more than five Changing Places facilities across the country. The Changing Places campaign is designed to provide confidence through ensuring a set of standards on space and equipment within a Changing Places facility.

Working with specialist and generalist architects has proven that OpeMed have the turnkey skills required to manage case management projects including minor and major house renovations.

OpeMed has advised upon, designed and installed a range of transfer and care solutions for Flat Spaces; an all encompassing holiday home in Hampshire which is fully accessible for up to 8 guests. Equipment such as the OT200 Ceiling Hoist, Straight Ceiling Track, Height Adjustable Basin, Shower Chair and Grab Rails have been supplied by OpeMed.

OpeMed has delivered design expertise and transfer and care equipment for the Lynwood Nursing and Residential Home in Berkshire. We have installed ceiling hoists and ceiling tracking for 69 of the new Nursing Home and Dementia rooms including bedrooms, wet-rooms, assisted bathrooms and the rehabilitation and leisure swimming pools.
