Tesco’s Changing Places: Making the Products Work
Our latest Changing Places project is now complete, this facility is now available at Tesco’s in Stourbridge West Midlands. OpeMed were called in to provide hoisting and lifting solutions to the brand new wet room as it had a 2m MF suspended ceiling and walls which did not include ply lining.
The objective for the hoisting was to ensure full room coverage without taking the existing ceiling down and started again, having dealt with this kind of situation previously we were able to offer solutions to these obstacles. Firstly we fitted wall posts for the ceiling tracking to take the load- this method ensures that the load is spread evenly and the room can be fully accessed regardless of the structural limitations. As the walls were not strengthened enough to support a wall mounted changing table we specified a height adjustable shower trolley for this project which can be left stationary in one position or can be unlocked to a preferred position in the room.
We feel that the outcome of this project has provided a room with lots of moving and handling options to accomodate the user and carers with no instruction needed.
