OpeMed in Royal Company

OpeMed was honoured to be invited to showcase the OT200 Ceiling Hoist at a royal visit to the unique FlatSpaces accessible holiday home.  HRH Princess Alexandra joined OpeMed at the Ropley holiday home, showing support for accessibility and to learn more about the innovative Flat Spaces initiative.

Nicholas Kent (Managing Director of OpeMed) was delighted to demonstrate how quiet and unintrusive the OT200 Ceiling Hoist is with its flush track solution and compact design transferring from the bedroom through to the bathroom. In addition to the patient hoist, we supplied an assisted WC and a range of flexible height adjustable washbasins, shower chairs and grab rails from Pressalit, all installed by OpeMed.

Flat Spaces is a purpose-built, accessible holiday home that is luxurious and spacious. An ideal home-from-home for wheelchair and powerchair users thanks to its wide, bright and airy open spaces. Built in 2015 with transfer equipment from OpeMed throughout, Flat Spaces is designed to provide an accessible holiday in comfort.

Tom Yendell, Founder of Flat Spaces said ‘We were extremely honoured that HRH Princess Alexandra found the time in her very busy schedule to visit Flat Spaces, Hampshire.    With the success of our first bungalow showing the great need for properties such as ours, the Foundation is now gearing up to raise the funds for the future Flat Space Holiday homes around the country’.
