OpeMed near completion on brand new Changing Places in Crawley
As a newly awarded local hero in the Crawley Community Awards, Autism Ambassador for Gatwick Airport and Chairman for Autism Support Crawley; working with Maria to install a well needed Changing Places into County Mall Shopping Centre, has been a delightful journey and a fantastic achievement for Maria and all her campaigning work.
Brought on board as both co-sponsor of the Changing Places Campaign and industry specialists, OpeMed has been proud to support this endeavour, helping to create a more accessible Crawley. Our team of Product Specialists have worked closely with Maria to ensure the best possible facilities, utilising our extensive experiance to match the needs of the users and the Changing Places specifications to the parameters of the room.
With the facility officially due to open Friday 16th of June, the Changing Places toilet features our OT200 Overhead Hoist System, Height Adjustable Changing Table, Height Adjustable Washbasin, Assisted Toilet and a range of other essential equipment needed for a Changing Places toilet.

“The Ryan Box Changing Place is not only a life-changing facility for my son, but for countless others not just in Crawley, but throughout West Sussex, Surrey and beyond. My 4 year journey to make this happen has certainly been an eventful one having been faced with lots of hurdles, but I cannot thank Mark Haynes from The County Mall enough for never giving up either and always reassuring me it would happen and now it is. Roll on June 16th. It will be such a proud day when I finally cut that ribbon. OpeMed have been brilliant from their first involvement with regards to site visits, planning and phone and email advice to not only myself, but to Neil MacHugh, project manager for AllAspex, who were responsible for the strip out of the old site and creating the blank canvas for the CP equipment install. No longer will I have to lay Ryan on the floor to change him when in town and I really look forward to arranging a meet up with friends for lunch knowing I now won’t have to cut it short because Ryan needs a nappy change. I also hope that the powers that be at Cineworld see this wonderful facility opening and finally realise their social, legal and moral responsibilities and follow best practice just like The County Mall.”
We are delighted to have worked so closely with Maria to produce another state-of-the-art Changing Places toilet. This facility and facilities likes these are so crucial for he disabled community both visiting and living in and around Crawley.
