OpeMed Awarded CHAS Accreditation

OpeMed awarded CHAS Accreditation – Health and Safety at OpeMed
In the U.K. there are over 200 fatalities each year in accidents, over one million people injured and over two million suffer illnesses caused by, or made worse by, their work. Working to prevent accidents and ill health caused by work is a key priority to OpeMed during our installations of Ceiling Hoists, Adjustable Baths, Through Floor Lifts and Changing Tables.
With annual reviews of our Health and Safety Arrangements and Policies, OpeMed are conscious of the need to prioritise Health and Safety. OpeMed are proud to announce we have been awarded with the CHAS accreditation. This is in addition to our existing Construction Line and Builders Profile approved status.
What is Chas?
CHAS stands for the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme. CHAS is a health and safety accreditation scheme for the construction industry. The purpose of CHAS is to help both buyers and suppliers in the assessment of health and safety competence.
This approval significantly helps purchasers (main contractors) of our installations of Ceiling Hoists, Changing Tables, Adjustable Baths, Pool Lifts and Through Floor Lifts, by reducing the lengthy process of assessing contractors health and safety standards.
CHAS assessed OpeMed’s:
- Health and safety policy statement for the install of Disabled Equipment or Patient Transfer Equipment;
- OpeMed’s internal organisation for health and safety;
- OpeMed’s specific health and safety arrangements to a standard acceptable to our buyers and to others.
