The Muscular Dystrophy Conference 2014: OpeMed Takes Part
As the official co-sponsor and manufacturer for the Changing Places Campaign, we pride ourselves in our strong relationships with fellow campaigners. We were very pleased to accept our invitation to this year’s Muscular Dystrophy Campaign from the Trailblazers; a team of 500 strong in the UK who campaign for greater accessibility and disability awareness in areas such as education, transport and technology for people who may have Muscular Dystrophy or in-fact any other disability.

Changing Places ties in directly with the efforts of The MDCTrailblazers as they hope to campaign for more accessible toilets during 2015. As guests of Trailblazers, OpeMed and Astor Bannerman (official sponsor of Changing Places) took a few minutes to speak directly with some of the Trailblazers at the conference about their experiences of needing a Changing Places and why they are so important. Once again, we were blown away with the positive responses to Changing Places and the impact they have on people’s lives by not just providing a hygienic place to be changed and toilet in but also a life line for long journeys and an opportunity to plan fun days out!
The Muscular Dystrophy Conference proved to be not only a very informative day of educational sessions and guest speakers but also a fantastic celebration of the incredible achievement by the charity in the last 12 months. We look forward to working more closely with the MDCTrailblazers to raise the profile of disability and Changing Places facilities over the next 12 months!
