LOLER Testing for Lifting Equipment
LOLER Testing Approval Updates
The LOLER test is a fundamental consideration when using any lifting device. Within the OpeMed equipment range, equipment such as the OT200C ceiling hoist, the OpeMax 500 floor lift and the OpeMed pool hoist all must consider a 6 monthly LOLER test. LOLER applies to lifting equipment and builds on the requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER).
Who does the LOLER test effect?
- People who use any lifting equipment provided at work
- The user of people at work
- The employers of people who use equipment
- Those who represent the above people
- People who act as a competent person in the examination of lifting equipment
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) set out the necessary requirements in order to comply with the Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER). The recent publication update for LOLER testing brings the document up to date with regulatory and other changes including the clarification of which equipment is subject to the provisions of the regulations etc. To access the latest edition of the LOLER testing publication including new examples from the health and social care sector click here.
