Flat Spaces Accessible Holiday Home
Accessible Holiday Home Collaboration with OpeMed
We are delighted to announce our collaboration with the innovative team from Flat Spaces, a charity set up to design and build holiday rental properties which have 100% accessibility throughout.
Having built a great relationship with the passionate team at Flat Spaces we have experienced first hand the importance of a well designed and considered property will full accessibility. It has been suggested by research that “many disabled people and their families never go on holiday for fear of being able to cope”, a key driver behind Flat Spaces. The pilot for the accessible holiday home has been created as the founder; Tom Yendell’s own residence as working proof of the high quality and disabled user friendly environment.
As experts in transfer and care solutions; OpeMed have been involved ahead of the very first property available to the public. The house will feature a well concealed and aesthetically pleasing OpeMed track system from bedroom through to bathroom and to the adjoining second bedroom. The OT200 compact ceiling hoist will offer up to a 200kg safe working load for user flexibility as well as ensuring optimum safety by providing gravity powered charging and a no tools emergency lower.
As the main installer of the transfer equipment within the property, OpeMed will be ensuring that the bathroom area will be fully accessible featuring some of the market leading showering, changing and toileting equipment available. View the product overview here.
