Kidz North at Event City: Leading the Way for Disabled Users

Event City in Manchester, a 4 Year Old Shining Example of an Exhibition Centre

chnaging places opemedevent city manchesterAs thousands of people pass through the doors of exhibition centres for each day of an event you have to wonder how well cater for the disabled visitors really are. We are not only talking from the parking to the ramps and turning spaces but also in terms of Changing Places too- Thankfully, venues such as Event City in Manchester really do lead the way for people with disabilities, their families and PA’s too!

So what is a Changing Places?

Thousands of people need the Changing Places toilets that would help them to enjoy the day to day activities many of us take for granted.

The Changing Places Consortium has launched its campaign on behalf of those people who cannot use standard accessible toilets. This includes people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and their carers, as well as many other disabled people.

They need Changing Places toilets which are publicly accessible with enough space and the right equipment, including a height adjustable changing bench and a ceiling hoist.

Event City Manchester: The Changing Places

kidz north opemedAs we draw closer to this year’s Kidz Up North exhibition at Event City in Manchester which last year welcomed a large number of families, carers and Kidz through its doors, people will start to plan their day out ahead. Luckily a Changing Places is on hand at the venue to provide the respite, changing and toileting facility that will be needed by so many attending the one day event.

OpeMed are very pleased to not only be exhibiting at Kidz Up North 2014 at Event City but also extremely proud to be the official co-sponsor and manufacturer of Changing Places. We look forward to celebrating the Changing Places on the day, and you can find out more about Changing Places by visiting our stand: A14 and speaking with Changing Places expert, Mike Lesurf. Check out the Changing Places write up on the Event City website!
