Changing Places Loo Tour de Britain
Loo Tour de Britain for Changing Places Sponsored by Aveso
Aveso would like to congratulate charity cyclist Grant Speed after completing his 370-mile trip home from Leeds to Arbroath.
Grant was joined by other cyclists on the final leg from Monifieth to Arbroath harbour, where a toilet roll stretched between two loo brushes to mark the finish line of his successful Loo Tour de Britain. The fundraiser was set up by Grant in a bid to raise £10,000 to see a Changing Places toilet installed in his home town.
Grant has seen first-hand the difficulties experienced by his sister, Lois Laird, in finding suitable toilet facilities when she is out and about with her 14-year-old twins, Kein and Kelsey.
The family are working closely with Scottish charity PAMIS on the project to fund a facility in Arbroath. The Loo Tour de Britain has already raised over £6,000.
Changing Places toilets are large enough to support a wheelchair user and up to two carers, and they include an overhead hoist, peninsular toilet and height-adjustable changing bench. OpeMed is the official co-sponsor of the Changing Places campaign as Aveso Ltd. Aveso hope that its support for the campaign will help it achieve its target of 1000 registered Changing Places toilets within the next three years.
