Changing Places Leicester

OpeMed as Official co-sponsor of The Changing Places Consortium have begun the Changing Places Tour of the UK. Now with around 600 facilities installed and in use for disabled users we have been keen to investigate alongside parents and users.We spend the day in a selected City of choice visiting all of the CP locations, we check to see how visible the toilet is, how user friendly and how clean it is. So far we have had great support and it has been an eye opening experience from the view point of a user searching for a CP toilet.

Welcome to the Changing Places TourThe Changing Places tour commenced on 21/11/13 with OpeMed and Astor Bannerman (Aveso).

Location 1: Embrace The Arts Leicester Shower unit with shower chair and support grab rails, privacy screen, height adjustable changing table, floor hoist and assistive grab rails for the toilet.

Location 2: The Curve Theatre

Ceiling track hoist with XY frame, height adjustable changing bench, height adjustable sink and mirror, toilet with assistive grab rails and privacy screen. Radar key readily available from reception, easy to find and very accessible to users.

Location 3: Highcross Shopping Centre

Toilet and sink with sufficient turning space and assistive grab rails, height adjustable changing bench, ceiling hoist with XY frame. Well signed from the elevator to the CP entrance.
